The snafu post. Already.

There was rain in Atlanta yesterday afternoon. Apparently around New York City too, so the first part of our adventure here is the familiar tale of travel problems. We were three plus hours late getting out of Atlanta, got to JFK by midnight and our flight to Reykjavik was long gone. JFK's concourses echoed with emptiness. No Delta agents to help. I jumped on the Delta chat line but they just said see a gate agent for help.

We walking along dragging our suitcases, and Fred saying maybe we should find a good corner to spend the night and me saying no. Finally we found the TWA hotel at terminal 5 and it is connected to JFK  I was trying to stave off a headache that started earlier when on our plane two women erupted into a yelling fight because one accused the other of cutting in line in the aisle.

We spent the night at the TWA hotel. It cost $420/night. We are now supposed to leave for Reykjavik tonight at 11:15 p.m.  There are other costs and lost travel plans messed up but you get the picture.

The TWA hotel is a museum-like place and it is cool which it should be for this price. The signs say it was created as a tribute to the "golden" age of flying  (30s, 40s and 50s, maybe 60s). There's a replica of an office set-up for a TWA exec., see Fred listening in on the old-timey phone. We will be here for awhile, at least we can sit outside and use their wifi until 9 or so tonight when we go back into JFK to queue up for our flight.

I loved talking to Mom this morning, thank goodness, I have her to talk to as she is always full of reassurance and comfort and love for Fred and me.
