Head toward the Arctic Circle in August? Yes, please.
We planned the logistics of this trip to Iceland in March and since time flies here it is almost time to snap on our N-95s and economy class seat belts to fly north on Delta. We are excited to be journeying almost all the way to the Arctic Circle. Thinking about the Arctic Circle made me find this map which I love because it is so telling. Drawn from the top of the world perspective, it makes me realize that there is more land inside the Circle than I had imagined.
Also, look how small Iceland looks next to Greenland:
We had planned to begin this journey Aug. 16 but Fred got a fever which we later found out was a sinus infection. We were worried it could be Covid so we postponed the trip. Now, we are here on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and we are back on track, headed north. We fly to JFK, then get on an overnight flight to Reykjavik.
