Thursday, Sept. 1. We here and it is all good.
After our delay we finally made it to Iceland. It is so exciting being in another country, experiencing the confusion of how to turn the lights on, or how to get hot water in the shower, or how much is a kroner really?
We spent time in Reykjavik, then drove about three hours north and are spending the night in a little town called Blonduos. I'm going to let the pictures speak now because I'm still catching up on rest and we are going to bed soon. Neither Fred nor I slept much on the overnight flight but no complaints and we are so thankful we are here.
We've enjoyed sunshine all day but it is still chilly at around 55 degrees. We wore puffy jackets when out and about. The landscapes so far are attractively shaped with brilliant blues and greens (the water, the grasses) just running along beside us constantly as we drove north. Icelandic horses are everywhere.
